His first singles were released in 1996 and 1997, but were confined to the underground electronic music scene. However, he became good friends with Michel Amato, also known as The Hacker, whom he met in the Rex, the “techno temple” of Laurent Garnier. The Hacker suggested he send his new tracks to DJ Hell, head of Gigolo records in Munich. Pascal did so, and International DeeJay Gigolo Records, released the well known Poney EP in 2001, which was a huge success shortly after its release. With the track “La Rock 01″, Vitalic created a club anthem which was a hit in the summer of 2001. The track was also included on many compilation albums, even rock compilations.

In 2005, Vitalic’s debut album, OK Cowboy was released on Different/PIAS Recordings. Pascal states that all of the instruments used in the album are synthesized. His official website states that “the only thing he can’t fake is the emotion that galvanizes his music.”

His song “Trahison” from OK Cowboy was used in the trailer for the 2007 French film Naissance des Pieuvres. His song “Poney Part 1″ was featured in the Pleix film Birds. It was announced by Festival Republic that Vitalic would be playing both the Reading and Leeds Festivals in the UK in August 2009.

Vitalic’s second studio album Flashmob was released on the 28th of September 2009. The first single, “Your Disco Song” is available for streaming at Vitalic’s MySpace page. He has spoken a great deal about the new disco influence on Flashmob.

It all started in secondary school in the beginning of the 90’s. Armin’s big dance music inspirer in those days was Dutch Master Mixer Ben Liebrand. He bought himself two turntables, learned mixing quickly and soon began to create his own style. At the age of 16 Armin bought his first sampler, the Akai S-01. Although it was mono, he did everything with it that you could possibly imagine. The very first demo made was immediately included on a compilation. With the money he received from that deal Armin bought bigger and better equipment which resulted in his first vinyl release at the end of 1995.
Since 1995 Armin has released a lot of tracks on different labels with increasing success. The first big success was ‘Blue Fear’ on Cyber Records. This ‘Euro trance blueprint’ even made it into the UK Chart. On the same label he also released ‘Communication’ which caused serious damage on Ibiza in the summer of 1999. This track was signed to AM:PM and entered the UK Chart at #18 in 2000!

In the beginning of 1999 he started his label Armind with United Recordings. The first release, Gig – ‘One’, was very well received. The second release ‘Touch Me’ under the name of Rising Star was signed to Ministry Of Sound before the records hit the shelves. When Gimmick – ‘Free’ was signed to R&S Records it can certainly be said that Armin has managed to put his label on the map in no time. He released Gaia – ‘4 Elements’ and teamed up with DJ Tiësto to do two productions; Major League – ‘Wonder Where You Are?’ was released on Blackhole and Alibi – ‘Eternity’, which was another great club success, was released on Armind. Eternity was licensed to Paul van Dijk’s label Vandit Records and will be re-released this summer. Another collaboration followed; he joined forces with Ferry Corsten to record another riff-classic titled ‘Exhale’ for the System F. album.

Perpetuous Dreamer – ‘The Sound Of Goodbye’, which was already featured on AVB002, is now finally released on vinyl. A video will be shot soon and a commercial release is set for late August 2001.

On his own AVB compilation series he manages to find the perfect balance between progressive, techno and trance. Armin van Buuren 003 – In Motion will be released August 6th. Frequently check www.arminvanbuuren.com for more detailed information.

After remixing huge tracks such as Wamdue Project – ‘King Of My Castle’, Madison Avenue – ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ and Gouryella – ‘Walhalla’ Armin’s a highly demanded remixer and he’s turning down remix requests almost on a daily basis. In the near future Armin will focus more on his own productions and will work on tracks for his Rising Star album.

Armin’s DJ career also took off big time. In the UK you can see him regularly at Passion, Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, Slinky, Peach, and on various locations all over the world (Jerusalem, Tokyo, Helsinki, Ibiza, Crete, etc.). This summer he will play numerous gigs at Ibiza and in the UK and will rock Crete, Dance Valley and the Fast Forward Parade.

Since his debut at Manchester’s Hacienda in 1987, the beginning of the Acid House explosion, Laurent Garnier has played a key role in the development of the electronic music scene. Over the last ten years he has built up his international reputation by playing at all the major clubs and festivals worldwide. During this time he has been voted best international DJ by the music press and has built up a very special relationship with his public. Laurent Garnier is very different from your average DJ. You only have to witness the queues of enthousiasts in front of the Rex Club in Paris or L’Anfer in Dijon where he held long-term residencies.

Laurent Garnier is respected by both the godfathers of techno in Detroit, with whom he has built close links, as well as by the younger generation of producers and DJs to whom he has given a taste for electronic music through his DJ sets and radio shows…

Aside from his successful DJ career, Laurent Garnier has always produced his own music. In 1991, he released a series of Eps on the Fnac Dance Division label. This work continued with the creation of his own record label F Communications in 1994, with Eric Morand. The release of tracks such as ‘Acid Eiffel’ and ‘Wake Up’ on FNAC Dance Division served as a springboard for a new French electronic scene. Rarely before had French music been so easy to export.

In effect, Laurent Garnier became the first ambassador for French house and techno abroad. In October 1994, he released his first album ‘Shot in the Dark’ and subsequently became one of the first French artists to be invited to perform on the prestigious ‘Peel Sessions’, broadcast on BBC Radio 1.
The release of his second album ‘30’ was another turning point in Laurent Garnier’s career. From here on, Garnier decided to slow down his hectic DJ schedule in order to concentrate on producing more of his own music. However, this did not prevent him Djing on the main stage at the first Techno Parade in Paris in September 1998, in front of an audience of 100,000 people. That same year he won the ‘Victoire De La Musique’ award for his album ‘30’ ;a great honour as this was the first year that there was a category for Dance music. During the award ceremony at the Olympia in Paris, he performed ‘Acid Eiffel’ live, accompanied by violin and percussion. As a result of this performance being broadcast live on French national prime-time TV techno, which had previously been misunderstood finally began to gain recognition from a wider French public.

He fine-tuned his live show whilst performing at several of the major European festivals (Sonar, Borealis, T in The Park, Creamfields…) before returning that same year to the stage of the Olympia accompanied by 14 musicians and dancers. The experience of this performance and the full European tour that followed , including the Montreux Jazz Festival, proved to be a very important influence for what was to follow.

With the release of “Unreasonable Behaviour” in 2000 Laurent Garnier produced his most accomplished and personal album to date. This surprising record does not shy away from exploring more diverse and tormented sounds than we have previously been accustomed to in his work, resulting in praise from the press as well as the public with over 250,000 copies sold and one undeniable hit “The Man With The Red Face”

This album also enabled Laurent to continue to explore his fascination with the visual element and young directors. Following the succes of videos such as “Flashback” directed by Quentin Dupieux, Laurent called on Vito Rocco, Siraj Jhaveri and César Vayssié to create videos for several tracks on the album keeping true to the same off beat humour and mixed up emotions.

When “Unreasonable Behaviour” had been completed Laurent Garnier embarked on a tour of over 60 dates across Europe and USA. Whether playing sold out gigs at the Elysée Montmartre in Paris or headlining at the Werchter festival in Belgium in front of over 70,000 people, Laurent’s charisma and the generosity of his music seduced a large public.

The best is yet to come… Following a tour of Asia in winter 2001, Laurent Garnier will start work on a new album.

Markus Schulz has been winning over fans with his dark, brooding, melodic productions and DJ sets. 2004 marked his debut at 32 on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs. Markus has captured a vibe in trance that was previously only heard in house music.

With his Coldharbour Sessions compilation release in March of 2004, the foundation has been laid out for what is being labeled as the next big sound in trance. Dark, thick basslines, tranquil music box melodies, with frantic energetic percussion and epic strings. His productions have been released throughout the world on some of the most respected labels in the electronic dance music industry: Electronic Elements, Armada, Anjunabeats, Lost Language, Yoshitoshi, Global Underground, Renaissance and Bedrock just to name a few. Markus has had the opportunity to work with artists like Jewel, Oceanlab, Gabriel & Dresden presents Motorcycle, Karada, Telepopmusik, Fat Boy Slim, Miro, Book Of Love, Depeche Mode, Everything But The Girl, Madonna, Blue Amazon, and PQM. Harder, darker, Markus always delivers up a musically sensitive yet moody monster of a mix.

Just one glance at the play lists of some of the biggest DJs on the planet, and you will see Markus Schulz’s influence, as many of the top DJs are playing his notorious sound. Markus though continues to stay ahead of the pack, in the process inspiring a new generation of trance producers by working closely with many of the artists that are inspired by this new sound, encouraging them and offering advice from his experiences from his over a decade of production and DJing.

His continued growth and success as been equally affected by his internationally broadcasted radio show “Global DJ Broadcast” which has proven to be one of the most listened to radio shows worldwide via the internet. Markus’ show can be heard every Sunday night from 1am-5am on WPYM 93.1fm and simulcast on Trancesphere.com, Dancenation.com and ETS-global.org. The U.S. dance community has labeled his show as “The most important outlet for the global music scene on American radio”. Hundreds of thousands of listeners tune in every week either on the radio or over the internet to hear Markus’s live sets from his gigs around the globe and mixes from his superstar dj guests.

From his radio show to his productions and his live sets Markus continues to evolve bringing intelligent melodies and credibility to trance music.

Norman Doray grew up listening to music, thanks to his parents. Hearing Bob Sinclar or Daft Punk for the first time was a true shock to him; deeply influenced by them, Norman was quickly attracted to turntables and DJing. He started spinning in 2002 in several clubs near his hometown in the west of France, and quickly earned a residency in 2003, in a club in Lille, this is the club where he learned his craft.

18 months later Norman was on the move, playing in clubs throughout France and abroad, while making his first steps production-wise. The first track to be released in the spring of 2006 is “In The Name Of Love”, a collaboration with friend Pierre De La Touche on the German label Starfunk Records.

The track is, surprisingly to Norman, picked up and playlisted by many DJs. Norman adds Arno Cost to the team and the form ‘The Freshmakers’. Under that name, Norman’s second track “Let You Go” is released in 2006 on Serial Records. “Let You Go” is considered as THE track of the summer 2006 in France, not only highly charted on radios such as Radio FG, Fun Radio, Contact FM, but also quickly reached N°1 in the club charts, and camped there for 6 weeks.

On the tail of that success, The Freshmakers are asked to remix 3 tracks: Da Sushiman “In and Out” (Ledge Music); Serial Crew “Make Your Own Kind Of Music” (Serial Records); Rilod “Thriller” (Nice Music), and at the beginning of 2007 go on to remix the huge hit Sunfreakz “Counting Down The Days” and Antoine Clamaran’s blockbuster track “Give Some Love”. Norman also remixes one of the most beautiful songs of the year: “Soul Heaven” by Henrik B, for Joia Records, this time on his own.

Norman Doray’s first solo production and summer sounding “Jetlag” is not far behind. It will be released in May 2007 on Serial Records. Radio FG wants Norman as DJ resident in September 07’ and he has his slot there ever since, a one hour floor stompin’ mix show every week.

Before 2007 ends, Norman will team up again with Arno Cost to produce the now legendary “Apocalypse”. This track will put both Norman and Arno on the worldwide dance map. So many DJs played it (and still are today): Pete Tong, Axwell, Eric Prydz, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Sebastien Léger, Tiesto, Paul van Dyck… “Apocalypse” is then released worldwide on labels such as CR2, Kontor, News, Universal.

Remixes flood in, “Humanoidz” by Tom de Neef and Laidback Luke (Jsquad), “Delirious” by David Guetta (Virgin), “Baba O Riley” by Cube Guys (Ministry Of Sound), “24H” by Seamus Haji (Big Love) and “Kalle” by Zoo Brazil (Joia), his star is rising and is in demand !!

Along with these projects, ‘The Freshmakers’ trio produced their second single “Miracle”, with a massive remix by Mischa Daniels. Again, full support by the leaders of the dancefloors worldwide.

Gigs at Fuck me Im Famous follow in Ibiza as well as signing to management team Club Class Music Management from the UK, at the end of the summer more solo singles emerge.

Norman Doray’s second solo single “Krystal” is released at the end of September 08’, directly on CR2, Serial Records and We Play, followed closely by a collaboration with Tristan Garner called “Last Forever”, this is the one !!!! signed to 17 labels worldwide and with a video produced in Shanghai China, this record looks like projecting Norman into the production elite.

Always spinning, always producing, Norman never stops. He’s currently putting the final touches to a new remix for Those Usual Suspects (Ministry Of Sound), and is already working on his 3rd solo project to be entitled “Leo” to be released beginning of 2009.

Watch this space for a totally new concept with Arno Cost coming soon and the launch of Norman’s Record label Suprem Records.

Soul Thing
I can’t remember a time without the strains of soul music drifting through our house. With both parents coming from Barbados I was brought up very much in tune with a natural party ethos that went hand in hand with a love of good music. My earliest musical memories are of Booker T and the MGs, Aretha Franklin and, of course the great Elvis, and I used to hijack my parents collection of 70’s soul 45’s and get the whole family grooving round the lounge! I guess the early signs were there – my passion for music combined with an over-whelming desire to entertain as many people as possible.

By 10 I had well and truly caught the bug and was spending every bit of my pocket money on soul and funk records. I got my first pair of decks (just the 2!) by the age of 15 and I started to play as many parties as I could, discovering that I could buzz off a crowd whilst funding my habit at the same time. As the 70’s became the 80’s I followed the musical trend from soul to disco to hip-hop but it wasn’t really until I moved to Brighton in 1986 that I discovered, along with so many others, the pure thrill of acid house.

The ‘Summer Of Love’ was special for me in more ways than one. It was at the Sunrise rave on the outskirts of London in 1988 that I had had my biggest breakthrough yet. I was already something of a regular on the infamous M1/Orbital rave circuit but it was at Sunrise that I had the idea to hook up a third deck. At 10.30am on a hazy Sunday morning I managed to tempt 15,000 partied out ravers back onto their weary feet and kick the party back into action – it was an amazing experience- and since then my phone has not stopped ringing with offers for ‘The 3 Deck Wizard’. I was fortunate enough to participate in many of the events that have gone down in history as defining moments in the history of UK club culture, such as playing the opening night at Rampling’s legendary Shoom, running The Project with Oakie as well as holding a residency at Brighton’s ZAP club.

With my reputation as a DJ well and truly secured I was able to turn my attentions towards producing. Initially signing to Perfecto I had my first hit in 1992 with ‘I Want You’ and, believe me, no one was more surprised than me when I found myself performing on Top Of The Pops when my record peaked at number 23 in the UK charts!!

Despite the fact that the follow up ‘Does It Feel Good To You’ also charted in the top 40, commercial success was never what I had been aiming for, it was all somewhat too far removed from the reality and buzz of setting a dance floor alight. Whilst fellow spinners such as Grooverider and Fabio moved from raves into Jungle, choosing to focus on a very UK and London orientated sound, I couldn’t escape the American and European influences that had always been there whilst I was growing up. I have always been very globally minded which comes across in my choice of music, which I use to cross physical and cultural boundaries to bring people together. Essentially my heart lies with house and techno and it was for this reason that I chose to take a back seat from my impending career as a pop star and be true to myself by going underground and re-discovering my roots.

Designer Labels
I started by setting up my first imprint, MMR, for Techno productions. I found that my popularity as a DJ gave me an opportunity to take techno to the masses and my first album FACT (Future Alliance of Communication and Technology) has to this day sold 250,000 copies. I spent 5 years under my own Ultimate Music Management which spawned club nights and tours alike and set up the forward-looking Worldwide Ultimatum to encourage the creative talents of more DJ’s such as Josh Abraham’s, Trevor Rockcliffe, Earl Gray and DJ Dan. In 1996 Nicky Holloway approached me to start a new night based on the style of music I was playing at the time and Ultimate Base was born at Velvet Underground along with the help of Jim Masters. Over the last 5 years Ultimate Base has showcased some of the world’s finest techno DJ’s, steered by a futuristic ideal, which very much reflects my own way of thinking.

The last several years have been absolutely mind blowing. In between jet-setting between gigs as far afield as South Africa, Israel, Tasmania and Asia I kick-started my acting career in the classic UK clubbing film ‘Human Traffic’ and somewhere along the way I found time to start new labels Ultimatum Breaks and Intec to focus on providing quality purist house and techno. I have regularly contributed Essential mixes for Radio One and I followed up the success of FACT (1&2) with several more mix albums including ‘Phuture 2000′. My career has been marked by a number of awards – I was awarded IDA ‘DJ Of The Year’ 2 years in a row, Muzik named me as the Best British DJ and I’ve had more honours from NME, Dancestar and countless other organisations all over the world.

The time is now
Out of so many highs it is difficult to pin-point the peak for me – it is a close call between The Love Parade and the dawn of the millennium. Playing for a crowd of 1,500,00 up-for-it clubbers in Berlin was the ultimate DJing experience in terms of seeing how wide reaching music can be but then being lucky enough to see in the millennium not once but twice – first on Bondi pavilion, then hopping on a jet over the timeline to Honolulu, Hawaii, was also pretty special.

More recently I have given up my residency at Base in order to concentrate on spreading myself even further afield. But don’t worry, in between producing, writing, remixing, presenting, TV appearances, managing, not forgetting DJing I will still be making regular appearances at Base and hanging with the very people who got me where I am today.

Meanwhile, a mysterious and dangerous foe emerges in Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke), who creates an alternate and powerful persona known as Whiplash in order to exact revenge on the Stark family once and for all… it isn’t long before he unites with Hammer in an effort to destroy Iron Man.
